This is a brief note to let you know the dates of the Coffee Concerts for the 2022-23 season. They are:

We hope to be able to give you details of performers and programmes in early July. It seems clear that the season will at least start, once more, at ACCA at the University of Sussex.

We hope everyone is enjoying the Brighton Festival.

This has been a fascinating season, brought to a fitting end in this intriguing and splendidly performed programme by the personable Mithras Trio. Performances were not merely technically accomplished but deeply considered: each of the three works made considerable demands, not simply musically but in depth of emotion.

Newsletter #68 – March 2022

The next and final concert of the 2021/22 season will be held on 20 March at 11 am at the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts (ACCA) at the University of Sussex. It will be given by the Mithras Trio.

Ruth Rogers and Nicky Sweeney Violin, Jon Thorne Viola, Peter Adams Cello, Joanna MacGregor Piano.

On a very stormy weekend it was particularly pleasing to see a large audience for this concert and with two very attentive young children in our complement. The concert was led by Joanna MacGregor who introduced the first half as American and the second European.

George Gershwin’s Lullaby certainly sounded American.
