Brighton & Hove Arts Council has given its 2025 award for outstanding contribution to the arts to Chris DarwinStrings Attached 2025-2026

Although there will be no coffee concert in December we would like to draw your attention to two other important matters.

CONGRATULATIONS TO CHRIS DARWIN
The Strings Attached committee is delighted to announce that Brighton & Hove Arts Council has given its 2025 award for outstanding contribution to the arts to Chris Darwin. Members of Strings Attached know that among his many contributions to music locally Chris has provided many of the programme notes for our Sunday morning concerts. He is a worthy winner and we are delighted, as evidenced by the photo above.

CREATE MUSIC – CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE 2-9 DECEMBER
Create Music is the region’s leading provider of music education and offers music bursary support to young people from low-income backgrounds across East Sussex. It is taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge to raise funds towards the bursary scheme. The campaign runs from 2-9 December, with a target of £10,800. The Big Give will match-fund any donations received, meaning every pound you donate between midday 2 Dec – midday 9 Dec will be doubled through the Big Give – and with a local trust doubling the final total, support will be quadrupled and go four times as far to help children across the region access crucial music-learning opportunities without barriers. Read more about the campaign here .
